BOAT LICENCE + JETSKI ENDORSEMENTS

 About AquaCraft

  • Recreational Boating and PWC Licence courses are provided in line with Marine and Safety Tasmania requirements.

  • Aquacraft is approved by Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) to provide Boat/PWC Licence Training for the public (Provider Number:  MSTTV046)

  • AquaCraft specialise in Recreational Boat Licence training combined with PWC (Personal Water Craft / Jetski) endorsement. We can also provide Jetski only endorsement training if you already have a Boat Licence.
    NB: We do not offer Boat Licence as a standalone course. We are set up to provide combined boat & jetski endorsement with the practical completed on a Jetski (not boat).

  • Age Requirement: Full Boat Licence & PWC (Jetski) Endorsement can be undertaken from 17yo. Provisional Boat Licence & PWC Endorsement can be undertaken between the ages of 12yo -16yo with adult supervision requirements applying for the course and ongoing (until they attain their full licence at 17 years of age).

  • Course theory pre-reading and pre-assessment practice can be completed online before you attend to help ensure a good result on the day. The course will allow to time to clarify any questions before you complete your theory and practical assessment on the day.

    Your course will include:

  • PRE-COURSE LEARNING (approx 3hrs)

    • Complete online reading (approx. 1hr to 2.5 hrs).

    • Pre-course theory practice test includes enrolment. (approx 20-30 min)
      This practice assessment helps to ensure all participants have the same, good foundation understanding prior to attending the course. A final theory assessment occurs at the course.

    • NB: Or hardcopy is available for purchase at Service Tasmania.

  • PRACTICAL COURSE (6hrs+)

    • Boat safety, guidelines and rules theory

    • Theory assessment (bring your own smart-device or hardcopy)

    • Practical skills competency assessment
      NB: time for the course will depend on how many participants attend.

  • PAY FOR YOUR LICENCE

    • 2 to 5 days after you have completed all steps MAST/Service Tas will issue you an approval via email. Take this to Service Tas to pay for your Boat Licence &/or PWC Endorsement.

Note: if you do not have the internet, a hardcopy test can be provided on request.

 If you do not have a Jetski to complete the course you may be able to use ours (under instruction). Contact us via email to confirm availability.

  • Courses:

    • Are provided by experienced trainer/s.

    • Are around 6 hours minimum, or until you are deemed competent.

    • Are usually held on a day over the weekend. During summer courses may be offered over 2 evenings.

    • Private Group Course bookings, for between 6 and 16 people, can be booked where time allows.
      Contact us via email to confirm available dates, venues and group numbers prior to booking.

    • If you are unable to attend the course you have booked and paid for, for example due to sickness, you can attend on an alternate date, where spaces are available.

How to Enrol & Pay

  1. Select Course & Pay here - Practical Skills Training & Assessment

  2. Complete Course Reading & Theory Test here (includes enrolment form)

  3. Take a photo or scan you approved Evidence of Identity. Email this to us.
    We collect this for MAST/Service Tas. *Acceptable ID is outlined here.

  4. Attend the Practical Skills Training & Assessment day (that you’ve booked)

  5. Aquacraft will confirm with MAST that you can be licenced.

 Boat Licence | Jetski (PWC)

  • Enrol to complete either:

    • Boat Licence training with PWC (Jetski) endorsement; or

    • PWC (Jetski) endorsement only - if you already have a current boat licence

    • Optional: Orientation to Boat / Jetski ownership

  • To clarify, a current Boat Licence is required to obtain your Jetski Endorsement, but this can be done on the same day. Simply select both options via the registration booking page.

  •  A currently registered jetski is required to complete the practical elements of course. If you do not have access to a jetski we may be able to provide one. Email us to confirm availability.
